 and the v belts for the sprocket then I know if the tractor move or not .....

       I don't like using the round belt myself. I've seen the round belts before and have seen them used as temporary fixes
       for fan belts in cars. They are adjustable and can be cut to size. I don't know if your round belt is like that or not.

       I much prefer "v" belts. As you increase the tension they wedge into the pulleys and provide good grip. Also, when they
       are not tensioned and loose, they shouldn't grip the pulleys. Unless its a brand new v-belt.

       It could be the same with your round belt. It could be very "grippy" because it it new. Maybe after some use it will be
       OK.
       If you had a "handbrake" then the kart / vehicle should not move forward when starting the engine.
