Hi Andrew,

You are correct - the Drive belt will twist! This is why a chain CANNOT be
used. A "V" belt will NOT come off the Pulley wheels while it twists
through 90 degrees.
Some Vaccum Cleaners use a "ROUND" pulley belt with round pulley wheels to
transmit power through 90 degrees of axle rotations.

Trust me - if you use a "V" drive belt and pulleys - it will work.
