Hi,

the problems with putting the lawnmower engine on its side are:

petrol tank & carburattor - petrol may spill out.
oil - some parts of the engine may be starved of oil on its side &
cause the engine to sieze.

Bottom line - if you do get it to work - the engine will only run for
a few hours.
