Hi,
Apologies for the slow reply.
Plans for the most basic wooden kart which can be made with a drill,
hammer and a saw can be found at:
http://www.kartbuilding.net/Wooden_Go-Kart_Plans/index.html
The above kart can be further adapted to place an engine at the rear:
http://www.kartbuilding.net/woodenkart/index.html
Plans for a metal kart can be found at:
http://www.kartbuilding.net/Freeplans/plans.htm
Plans of a racing kart in photographic format can be found at:
http://www.kartbuilding.net/racingkart/Old_Racing_Kart/racingkart.htm
It will be very possible to make the kart using materials from local scrap
yards and recycling centers. Old bycycles, lawnmowers and motorbikes are
ideal.
If you have any further specific questions, just let me know.
Best of Luck,
-steve
