Hi Stefan,

It's not realistically possible to put a lawnmower with a vertical drive 
shaft on its side. There would be big issues with the oil in the engine, 
and the gas/petrol for the carburettor. A few people have tried it, and 
while it might work for a few hours, the engine would sieze and stop 
working thereafter.

This is why I have used the system of pulleys and v drive-belt to transfer 
the power as easily as possible.
