Hi Chase,

The majority of the go-kart plans on www.kartbuilding.net are in metric. 
The conversions typically are:

25mm  = 2.5cm = 1 inch
300mm = 30cm  = 12 inches = 1 foot

You can also use google to convert your units :)
Just type:
convert 500mm to inches
and click search, and it will convert it for you :)
