Hi Nigel,

The race-kart frame (

) would need extra bracing to put up with the extra abuse and stress of 
off-road karting. In its design as a race chassis it was purposely kept 
light and flexible so it would handle well on tarmac when cornering.

But you can use the same layout (ladder design) and just add extra 
bracing.
