Hi,

Even though it may not look correct at first - the belt drive does work.
If you put a small pulley wheel on the lawnmower engine. A small one out
of a washingmachine etc. about 50mm (5cm) diameter. Now you will have to
bolt this small pulley to the VERTICAL drive axle of the engine.

If you then put a large pulley wheel on the rear axle, perhaps 200mm
(20cm). This will be on the HORIZONTAL rear axle.

To join up/connect the pulleys you use a V-belt to transfer the power from
the engine to the rear axle. BECAUSE its a V-Belt - it shouldnt come off
and SHOULD TWIST 90 degrees as it moves.

Its hard at first to get your head around it. Keep looking at the site and
take a look through google. It would also help if you setup a mock-up etc.
and test it out.
Best of Luck,
-steve

The only question i have is how does a regualr belt go from the lawnmower engine to the pulley on the rear axel. When i looked at you color drawing on the page it made a little more sense to me but i dontsee how that would work. If you can get back to me i would appreciate it.
