Hi,
I got the donor kart from an old closed down karting track. Insurance
costs put them out of business, and I managed to get my hands on one
of their worst karts unsuitable for selling, and I fixed it all
(including engine) myself.

In relation to attaching the motor to the rear axle, yes this is one
of the problematic areas. It all depends on the type of engine,
gearing, and size of wheels used. As a result I, as you correctly
noted, skimmed over this section.
