Thanks for your email. Sorry about the delay in replying.

The biggest costs for the go kart are:
the engine
the wheels.

If you have an engine and 4 wheels, then it would only cost around 30-40 
Euros for the materials (steel tubing, nuts & bolts, welding rods).

Bearings for the rear axle are not necessary, but if you had the money you 
could buy these. See the following page:

The last image on that page shows how you can put the rear axle inside a 
bushing/pipe instead of using a bearing.

Of course if you had access to a scrap yard, or motorbike repair shop etc. 
you can get a lot of these parts from other old machines.
